Matt Barnes & “Basketball Wife” Gloria Govan Are DONE

After calling off their engagement last year, but convincing the public they’re still a couple, Laker baller Matt Barnes and Basketball Wife Gloria Govan have called it quits.

Matt emailed out a statement today about the split:

“I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria’s relationship. We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time. We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best.”

And Gloria just tweeted her statement saying:

“I’m sure you guys are hearing a ton of buzz about Matt and Me breaking up, sorry to say… its true!!! But the most important thing is focusing on my kids and continuing to have a good relationship with their father, thanks for your support!!!”

The L.A. Times reports a heated twitter exchange between Matt and a fan was a tell-tale sign: That person suggested Barnes should marry her or else someone else will.

Responded Barnes: “He can have her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Meanwhile, Govan retweeted the following message on Saturday:

“If someone is dumb enough to walk away, be smart enough to let them go. Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you.”

The two share 3-year-old twins Carter Kelly & Isaiah Michael, as well as a home in Palos Verde.  Well the next season of Basketball Barely Wives should be interesting….

“AMERICA’s NEXT TOP MODEL TRANNY gets beatup by her NY Firefighter Boyfriend”

The strange love triangle that exists these days is beyond me. Well, it seems one of our brave NY firefighter had to let off some steam on his tranny girlfriend due to jealousy. He is also a former NYFD Calendar Pinup, damn. The dumbin’ down of the nation continues at a rapid rate.
Deano

A FDNY fireman who posed in a calendar of other firefighters allegedly battered his transsexual girlfriend in a jealous rage two weeks ago. Claudia Charriez claimed in the New York Post that the incident started when the calendar’s Mr March, Taylor Murphy, became angry with her at a strip club two weeks ago. She told the paper that the two began arguing after other men came up to her at the Flashdancers club in Midtown and asked her for a dance.

She said: ‘A couple of guys saw me and wanted me to dance for them. ‘Then the owner came up to me and asked if I wanted to work for him.’ Outside the club, the fight allegedly turned violent, as she claimed Mr Murphy broke her cell phone by slamming it on the ground.

She said: ‘He pinned me into a telephone booth and strangled me, then let go and started crying.’ Miss Charriez (are you kidding me, Miss Charriez?)  claimed she was able to break free from the attack and fled in a cab to her hotel, but Mr Murphy was already there. Police told the Post that he bit, punched, kicked, slapped and choked her.

She said: ‘I told him to leave and that I didn’t want to see him again.

‘It set him off, and he slammed me into the bed and strangled me again with so much force.’ Mr Murphy was arrested and charged with assault, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing in the attack. The firefighter with Engine 7, Ladder 1 in lower Manhattan was released last night after his arraignment in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The FDNY said Friday that the calendar Mr Murphy posed in is not affiliated with the department. Miss Charriez told the Post: ‘He called me from jail [Thursday] and said he wanted me to write a letter saying it didn’t happen.’ An FDNY spokesman told MailOnline that Mr Murphy, who’s been with the department for four years, has been suspended. She was famously disqualified from America’s Next Top Model after it was revealed she was born a man.

Heartbreaking Image: Dog mourns at casket of fallen Navy SEAL

Labrador retriever Hawkeye lays by the casket during the funeral of his owner, Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson, 35, on August 19, 2011. Tumilson was one of 38 killed on August 6 when a rocket-propelled grenade took out a U.S. Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan.

[Dog owner myself, I just had to post this story. Also a reminder, War affects everyone.]

Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson lay in a coffin, draped in an American flag, in front of a tearful audience mourning his death in Afghanistan. Soon an old friend appeared, and like a fellow soldier on a battlefield, his loyal dog refused to leave him behind.

Tumilson’s Labrador retriever, Hawkeye, was photographed lying by Tumilson’s casket in a heart-wrenching image taken at the funeral service in Tumilson’s hometown of Rockford, Iowa, earlier this week. Hawkeye walked up to the casket at the beginning of the service and then dropped down with a heaving sigh as about 1,500 mourners witnessed a dog accompanying his master until the end.

The photo was snapped by Tumilson’s cousin, Lisa Pembleton, and posted on her Facebook page in memory of the San Diego resident. Tumilson, 35, was one of 30 American troops, including 22 Navy Seals, who was killed when a Taliban insurgent shot down a Chinook helicopter with a rocket-propelled grenade on Aug. 6.

“I felt compelled to take one photo to share with family members that couldn’t make it or couldn’t see what I could from the aisle,” Pembleton wrote on her Facebook page. “To say that he was an amazing man doesn’t do him justice. The loss of Jon to his family, military family and friends is immeasurable.’’

Hawkeye was such a huge part of Tumilson’s life that Tumilson’s family followed the dog down the aisle as they entered the service in front of a capacity crowd in the gymnasium at the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock Community School. Hawkeye then followed Tumilson’s good friend, Scott Nichols, as Nichols approached the stage to give a speech. As Nichols prepared to memorialize his friend, Hawkeye dutifully laid down near the casket.

The youngest of three children, Tumilson had wanted to be a Navy SEAL since he was a teenager. Friends and his two older sisters remembered a fearless soldier, and a Power Point presentation was shown that illustrated Tumilson’s active life outside of the military, which included scuba diving, martial arts, and triathlons.

“If J.T. had known he was going to be shot down when going to the aid of others, he would have went anyway,” friend Boe Nankivel said at the service.

“Your dreams were big and seemed impossible to nearly everyone on the outside,” his sister, Kristie Pohlman, said at the service. “I always knew you’d somehow do what you wanted.”

As for Hawkeye, the loyal Labrador will now be owned by Nichols, Tumilson’s friend.

Jennifer Lopez Gives Vanity Fair Her First Interview Since Announcing Her Divorce from Marc Anthony

“That was my biggest dream, and I really worked hard at it. We both did,” Jennifer Lopez tells Vanity Fair in her first interview since announcing that she and Marc Anthony are divorcing. “Sometimes it doesn’t work—and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love,” Lopez says. “It’s still my biggest dream. I am positive—determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong.”

Lopez opens up to contributing editor Lisa Robinson about her life with Anthony and the example she hopes to set for her children; she talks about her relationship with P. Diddy and breaking off her engagement to Ben Affleck; she’s honest about the diva rumors that surround her, and shares her attitudes toward money, fame, and especially love.

“I’m a hopeless romantic and passionate person when it comes to love,” Lopez explains, describing the passage that has brought her to her current state of mind.

“It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself—if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now.”

“I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer,” Lopez tellsVanity Fair. “We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic—and we did. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”

The September issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands in New York and L.A. on Wednesday, August 3 and nationally and on the iPad on Tuesday, August 9. Visit Vanityfair.com for more.
